Stargate Blu-ray

Stargate is an action adventure film staring Kurt Russell and James Spader. It went from the movie theater to small screen and is now being released on blu-ray.

Spader is a scientist that decodes an ancient Egyptian artifact that mysteriously creates what they call the Stargate.  It is a portal for traveling across the universe as well as time.  Once they decide to jump through, which you knew was going to eventually happen, the craziness begins.  There is plenty of trouble for them to get into and they have to fix a big mess.  

The movie as well as the special effects hold up pretty good considering that the movie is fifteen years old.  The picture is crisp and the sound is great in all its high definition glory.  The extended cut of the film is unrated and adds some scenes not seen in the theater.  Unfortunately, the other extra content is pretty skimpy on the disc, but what you come here for is the movie, not the extras.  

If you don't have this movie yet i would definitely recommend you get it in blu-ray. Since everyone is just now starting to upgrade their dvd's to blu-ray, this is a great movie for you to start with.

While it is 15 years old, it really still is a wonderful story that continues to be amazing and have an impact on its viewers. Kurt Russell is amazing in this movie as well, playing a difficult role.
